Important Information About Procedures for Opening a New Account
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activites, in compliance with the USA PATRIOT Act, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.
If you open an account via mail, Internet or fax, you will be required to sign the "new account" paperwork in front of a Notary and include a clear photocopy of a valid identification card.
Each application will be checked for membership qualification. Upon approval, your Account Disclosures will be mailed within 5 business days.
Refer to the following items during the account sign up process:
- Driver's license, government issued I.D. or military I.D.
- Previous Home Address (if you have lived at your current address for less than 2 years)
- U.S. Social Security Number or Tax Identification Number
Please include a check or money order for at least the minimum required deposit of ten dollars ($10.00) made payable to Freedom21 Federal Credit Union, and mail to:
